Community outreach

Welcome back picnic

September heralds the return of our much-anticipated Back-to-School Picnic, a beloved tradition that unites families in a relaxed and informal setting. This event presents an excellent opportunity for parents to connect, engage in conversations with teachers, and partake in enjoyable activities for the children. The festivities include a DJ, professional dancers, a captivating bubble show, and delectable food.

As a school deeply committed to a family-centric ethos, we believe in celebrating the valuable contributions of all stakeholders – students, parents, staff, and the broader community. This collective effort plays a pivotal role in fostering a positive school culture. We eagerly anticipate the joyous gathering of all parents, students, and staff at this delightful celebration, marking the beginning of a new school year with warmth and camaraderie.

International Food Fair

Did you know that our King’s Oak community spans over 30 countries?

One of the most enriching aspects for our students in an international school is the opportunity to share diverse perspectives and experiences. The International Food Festival is a vibrant celebration of our cultural tapestry, inviting students, parents, and staff to showcase their favourite dishes from their home countries. Annually, in June, our community organises this international food fair.

The event is a culinary spectacle featuring a dazzling array of dishes reflecting our community’s rich diversity. Many students, parents, and teachers participate in this celebration by donning traditional clothing from various cultures. Beyond the culinary delights, the festival is a family-friendly affair, offering bouncy castles, face painting, crafts, sporting activities, and a tombola – ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

The King’s Oak International Food Fair has become a cherished tradition, uniting our diverse yet united school community in a joyous celebration of culture, community, and, of course, fantastic food!

World Book Day

World Book Day is an annual celebration that joyfully embraces the pleasures of reading while paying tribute to authors, illustrators, and books. At King’s Oak British International School, this event holds a special place asone of the most eagerly anticipated occasions of the year. It serves as a remarkable opportunity to champion reading for pleasure, encourage children to choose their own books and instil a reading habit that reaps countless benefits.

To amplify the celebration, both educators and students are encouraged to dress up as their favourite book characters, culminating in a lively costume parade across the school’s playground. This engaging activity fosters imagination and creativity and nurtures a deep love for reading in our students. Remarkably, just ten minutes a day spent reading and sharing stories with children can make a significant difference in their future success. Furthermore, stories have the power to bring families, teachers, and friends closer together, creating meaningful connections through the shared love of literature.
