FAQ
What is the curriculum followed in the nursery?
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage of the English National Curriculum at our international school. Our teachers focus on nurturing the curiosity of our young students and encouraging them to participate actively in their learning. We understand that each child has unique needs, abilities, and talents. Therefore, we give priority to helping your child develop their critical thinking, creativity, and social skills during our program.
What are the qualifications and experience of the teachers?
Our team comprises highly experienced and qualified teachers dedicated to providing top-quality care and education. They are passionate about creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for children to thrive. We offer continuous professional development opportunities to our staff to ensure that they are always up-to-date with the latest best practices in early childhood education. Our teachers have a minimum of eight to twelve years of experience working with young learners.
What are the daily routines and activities for the children?
Children arrive at school at 8:15 am and finish either at 1 pm or 3:15 pm, with the option to stay for a club until 4pm. Our school uses a topic-based approach that allows children to explore different subjects in-depth and make connections between them. We ensure that the topics are relevant and interesting to the children and incorporate their interests into the curriculum whenever possible. Our school offers a variety of hands-on experiences and opportunities for exploration, and we make sure that the learning environment is rich in materials and resources that stimulate curiosity and creativity.
We offer multiple areas of learning, including water, sand, malleable, investigation trays, mark making, maths, role-play, small world, and outdoor play. We are proud of our child-led learning approach and encourage children to take an active role in their learning process, which fosters independence, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. We allow children to express their ideas, interests, and questions, and incorporate them into the curriculum.
Do you have an Induction procedure for the new students?
We understand that leaving your child at nursery for the first time can be very difficult. Therefore, we work closely with you to get to know your child as well as possible before their first day. We have an Induction policy that we will share with you and we use various strategies to help your child settle in quickly at the nursery. Our top priority is the well-being and comfort of both children and parents during the transition into nursery. We believe that creating a supportive environment that fosters strong relationships and quick adaptation is essential for both the child’s development and the peace of mind of the parents.
What do I need to provide for my child’s day at Nursery?
“We will be able to provide most of the things for your child, but you may want to bring their own drinking cups until they get used to ours. Please ensure that everything you bring is clearly labelled with your child’s name, including their clothes and bags.”
My child was sick during the night but seems fine this morning. Can they still come to nursery today?
No. We have a strict policy on exclusion periods. For sickness and diarrhoea children must be away from nursery for 48 hours after last symptom.

Therefore, we maintain a fair teacher-to-child ratio of 1 teacher for every 6 students, which provides each child with the attention they need to thrive academically and develop a lifelong passion for learning.
Do you have a policy for food allergies or special dietary needs?
We consider it our collective responsibility to provide children with a healthy diet and lifestyle and it starts here. Breakfast will consist of a healthy option such as non-sugared cereal, toast, yogurt or fruit. Hot lunches are either provided or can be purchased separately. We are happy to cater for all dietary needs including allergies and intolerances.

Important updates and information are shared through these channels, as well as on our social media pages (Facebook and Instagram). Additionally, we send out weekly newsletters to parents via email and the school app to keep them informed.

How do I know my child will be kept safe?
Ensuring the safety of everyone in our care is our top priority, and we take it very seriously. We received high praise in our most recent inspection for our commitment to safeguarding. All of our staff undergo rigorous safeguarding training each year and every setting has a Designated Safeguarding Person who regularly audits our safeguarding procedures. These procedures cover everything from staff recruitment to visitor management, equipment safety, and the use of passwords and passes. We understand that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and we remain vigilant at all times to identify and address any concerns promptly.
